IS ONLINE THERAPY AVAILABLE AS WELL AS IN PERSON?

Online and phone therapy works in a similar way to face-to-face therapy, with the exception of being able to access this from your own home. All you will need is some privacy, a computer or phone with webcam facilities and a stable internet connection. Sessions remain private and secure and will not be recorded.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL SESSION LOOK LIKE?

Sessions last for 50 minutes. The first session will be an initial assessment. During this time, information is gathered about the difficulties you would like help with, as well as your hopes for therapy. From this, there will be a clearer understanding of your needs and which therapeutic approach may be most suitable. Standard sessions then continue on a weekly basis.

CAN I PAY FOR THE SESSIONS VIA MY INSURANCE POLICY?

Yes. Many insurers cover psychological therapy. An authorisation number is required before therapy begins. Clients remain responsible for any excess fees or late cancellations.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

The length of therapy varies. Some people benefit from short-term work (8–12 sessions), while others prefer longer-term therapy. Therapy can be ended whenever it feels appropriate.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS OR CANCEL A SESSION?

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions are charged in full. More than two cancellations in six months may lead to discharge from therapy.

DO YOU WORK WITH CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS?

Yes. Therapy is offered to both teenagers and adults. For younger clients, parents may be involved depending on age and individual need.

ARE THERAPY SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes. Sessions are fully confidential within professional and legal guidelines.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A SESSION IS MISSED OR CANCELLED?

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions are charged in full. More than two cancellations in six months may lead to discharge from therapy.
